June 2006
 The Fiuggi Open Conference &
The World leader's Colloqium
Celebrating Pentecost with over 1300 representatives from all over the world was an event I will never forget! I had the honour and the privilage to be personally invited by the ICCRS Council to lead the Worship at the Fiuggi Conference which took place between the 3rd and 9th of June. Following this conference was the International leaders colloquim which I was also privilaged to lead. Both conferences were amazing. The presence of God was very real and almost tangible. I have to say that this was an unforgettable experience.

Supporting me in the worship team from Malta were Fr Karm Debattista MSSP (Bass), Mario Cucciardi (Backing Vocals), Kris Domancich (Keyboards) and Jason Flores Marmara (Drums).
Tired but Blessed......This Picture was taken at Fiumicino Airport just before we returned to Malta....

Why 'Qum u Imxi....Jiena rbaht id-dinja'?
For those who wonder why... well... 'Qum u Imxi...Aqdef il-Barra' was the theme of the first National Conference back in 1978. Written by Joe C. Aquilina (as are most of the songs written up to a couple of years ago), while "Gesu rebah id-dinja" was last year's theme. So we felt that this would be a title that would embrace the first and the last Conferences.
We have selected 15 of the 28 songs written over these years of renewal in Malta. With re vamped old songs with new sounds. Old songs like 'Tibzghux Huwa Jien' and 'Intom ix-Xiehda tieghi' sound great. We re Recorded 'Tigi Saltnatek' in a way that will make it more Liturgically correct and thus can be used in this format during Eucharistic Celebrations. Other songs included are 'Jesus God's Glory amongst us', Ahkimni Gesu', 'Ejjew Nimlew il-Garar taghna bl-ilma' and this years theme song by Mark Agius 'Mhux facli dan il-Kliem'. |
